Boy's Arts Express and Girls' Arts Express

Due to the Covid 19 Pandemic, this program has been temporarily suspended. We are looking forward to restarting it again as soon as possible.

The Arts Express programs are parallel single-sex after-school programs that help boys and girls in pre-K through 5th grade transcend limiting expectations—especially those based on gender stereotypes—and build emotional competence,  confidence,  resilience, and social skills.

Children engage in a range of thoughtful creativity-education activities including Visual Art, Music, Expressive Movement, Woodworking, Storytelling, Cooking, Nature Adventures, Community Building, and Outdoor Play

Through these activities boys and girls learn how to recognize what they are feeling, gain confidence in expressing those feelings, and develop skills to manage them constructively. In the process, children learn about themselves and each other, develop a sense of community, and build a well-stocked emotional toolbox that helps them navigate the challenges of growing up without losing touch with their authentic selves.

Arts Express is located at the Earth School, at 600 East 6th Street in Manhattan. The program runs from 2:50 – 6:00 PM and is open to children ages five to twelve. (Pick-up is available at neighboring schools.)
